North Olmsted City Schools continues to monitor developments surrounding the coronavirus and the confirmed cases in Cuyahoga County and Ohio. To date, there are no confirmed cases associated with North Olmsted City Schools. 

On all health related matters, the district works closely with the Cuyahoga County Board of Health, the Ohio Department of Health and the United States Center for Disease Control and Prevention. We stay up to date on the information and resources provided by these agencies and also follow their recommendations and guidelines to ensure a healthy school community.


The district will still have spring break as scheduled  April 10 - April19.

logo icon District Statement School Closure EXTENDED March 30, 2020

Today, Governor Mike DeWine ordered an extension to the school closures in Ohio. Under this order schools will be closed until at least May 1, 2020. The extended closure will also pertain to all school events including all athletic and extracurricular practices and competitions, as well as all weekend events.

During the extended school closure the district is coordinating free school meal pickups beginning March 17th. Attached are the locations where families can pick up school meals.

The outbreak of COVID-19 may be stressful for people. Fear and anxiety about a disease can be overwhelming and cause strong emotions in adults. Coping with stress will make you, the people you care about stronger.

The Chromebook Request Form closed at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, March 23. For the safety of our staff and families, requests for at-home Chromebooks have been suspended at this time.  We will inform our families if additional opportunities become available in the future.

Today, Governor Mike DeWine issued an order that all school districts in the State of Ohio are closed for a period of three weeks.

To comply with the order, North Olmsted City Schools will be closed starting tomorrow, March 13, 2020 through Friday, April 3, 2020.

The health and safety of our students remains a primary concern. As new information becomes available about the coronavirus, we work to update our emergency response plans and increase preventative safety measures. As a proactive step, the district will be closed on March 17, 2020 for all students.

The news of coronavirus COVID-19 continues to be a major headline in the United States and across the world. Questions and concerns have surfaced about the potential impact the coronavirus could have in the United States and our local community. As a district our student’s health and safety is a top priority. We would like to take this time to be proactive and provide you with some information and resources.   
The Ohio Department of Health has established a call center to answer any questions related to the coronavirus. The call center is available from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. seven days a week and can be reached at 1-833-4ASKODH (1-833-427-5634).
