Clubs and Activities

 School-Sponsored Clubs

Intramural Club
      Open to 4th and 5th graders. Teams compete in basketball (Oct. and Nov.). volleyball (Jan. and Feb.) pickleball (Mar-mid Apr.) and soccer(mid-April -May). Games are held after school, Mon. and Wed. until 4:30.   Mrs. Borsz, mentor. 
 
Garden Club
   The new Maple Garden Club will meet once or twice per month on Fridays  with Mrs. Borsz after school until 4:30.  The purpose of this club is to provide an opportunity for student members to plan, decorate, create and maintain the school garden, school garden beds, and school grounds.   
 
Kindness Club 
      Helps students with interpersonal relationships.  Meets monthly on selected Wednesday mornings from 740-8:10     Mentor Mrs. Wilgus.
 
Music Clubs
      There are Choir, Band and several music clubs offered at Maple by Mrs. Stilla.  For Info on dates and times see her Music Website
 
Newsletter Club 
      Meets randomly throughout the month during recess time to put together the monthly school/PTA newsletter.  Students will be given various duties, as well as have opportunities to write articles.  Mentor, Mrs. Wilgus. 
 
 Readers Theater Club
       Runs from November through April on Tuesdays 3:15-4:00. Mentor Mrs. Deno. Open to 3rd  graders
 
STEAM Club/ Innovation Club
       Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math actiities. Have fun with experiments and crafts.  Miss Kochy, mentor.  Be a part of Invention Convention with Mrs. Delgado.  Learn about the design process and create your own inventions. 
 
Survivor Reading Club
      Meets Tuesdays from 3:15-4:15 in the library with Mrs. Boguski.  Runs from September to May. Open to all Maple students. Teams form to read and compete in challenges to outread, outlisten and outperform each other. 

Service Clubs
 Flag Raisers Club
     Mentor Mr. Barnhart.  Four (4) students will be selected each quarter to meet in the morning and raise the flag for Maple School.
 
Green Team
      A select group of 3rd, 4th, and 5th  graders who show responsibility and pride in their library and their school. Help with recycling. event advertising, and school awareness of green practices.  Meets Tues,  & Thurs . from 7:40 - 8:10. Contact Mrs. Boguski in the Media Center.  
 

Media Helpers Club
      A select group of 3rd,  4th,  and 5th  graders who show responsibility and pride in their library and their school. Help with book checkouts, care for computer classroom technology and the library,  and media creation. Meets Mon., Weds. & Fri. . from 7:40 - 8:10. Contact Mrs. Boguski in the Media Center.

 

Student Council

     Open to all grades, with a minimus of  two (2) representatives from each homeroom. Student government promotes spirit, operates a school store, and runs community service projects throughout the year. Meetings 7:40-8:10 first and second Mondays of the month. (Officers have additional planning meetings.)  Mentors Miss Khaleq and Mrs. Deno.

Clubs Sponsored by Outside Groups 

Good News Club

      Bible Study and Christian fellowship. Open to all students.  Runs from September through January 29, 2020.  Meets on Weds. after school until 4:30. See Mrs. Meng for details.
