Clubs and Activities

 School-Sponsored Clubs

ART Club 
      Art Club meets Mondays after school in the art room with Mrs. Michal. 
 
Music Clubs 
Choir
Meets  Tuesdays (3rd - 5th) at 7:40 a.m.   Performances include Maple concerts, All County Choir performance with all district choir members and special game performances. 
Ukulele Club 
Meets Friday before school with Mrs. Stilla.  Members bring ukuleles to practice and perform. Performances at Maple with the band, choir, and orchestra.  Available to 3rd-5th grade students.
Morning Band and Orchestra
Meets  Mondays (Orch.) and Wednesdays (Band,) at 7:40 a.m.  Open to 5th grade. Performances include Maple concerts, All County Choir performance with all district choir members and special game performances. 
Modern Band Meets Thursday before school with Mrs. Stilla.  Members play a variety of guitars and instruments including xylophones, metallophones and percussion instruments.   Performances at Maple with the band, choir, and orchestra.  Available to 5th grade students. 
 

 

Kindness Club 
Helps students with interpersonal relationships.  Meets monthly on selected Wednesday mornings from 7:40-8:10. Mentor is Mrs. Wilgus.
 
Survivor Reading Club
Meets Tuesdays from 3:15-4:15 in the library with Mrs. Boguski.  Runs from September to May. Open to all Maple students. Teams form to read and compete in challenges to outread, outlisten and outperform each other. 
 
Readers Theater Club Runs from November through April on Tuesdays 3:15-4:00. Mentor Mrs. Deno. Open to 3rd  graders
 
Running  Club Running Club meets  3 Wednesdays a month, after school, in the art room with Mrs. Michal, weather permitting.
 
International Club . Mentor Mrs. Michal. Open to all grades. Students will explore culture and geography of countries celebrated in Maple Mini-Olympics. Meets Thursday after school in the art room.

Service Clubs
 

Media Helpers Club
A select group of 3rd,  4th,  and 5th  graders who show responsibility and pride in their library and their school. Help with book checkouts, care for computer classroom technology and the library,  and media creation. Meets Mon., Weds. & Fri. . from 7:40 - 8:10. Contact Mrs. Boguski in the Media Center.

Green Team
A select group of 3rd, 4th, and 5th  graders who show responsibility and pride in their library and their school. Help with recycling. event advertising, and school awareness of green practices.  Meets Tues, Thurs . from 7:40 - 8:10. Contact Mrs. Boguski in the Media Center. 
 

Student Council

5th Grade student leaders elected in Oct..  Two (2) representatives selected from each homeroom form the student government, which promotes spirit, operates a school store, and runs community service projects throughout the year. Meetings 7:40-8:10 first and second Mondays of the month. (Officers have additional planning meetings.)  Mentors Miss Khaleq and Mrs. Deno.

Good News Club

Bible Study and Christian fellowship. Open to all students.  Runs from September through November. Meets on Thurs. from 3:15-4:30. See Mrs. Meng for details.
