Math 24 Club
Play the Math 24 game in friendly competition. Meets Thursday with Miss Deno after school until 4:00. Runs October through April.
5th and 6th grade students choose from flute, clarinet, trumpet, or trombone. Performances include playing at the primary schools for the holiday concerts at Primary schools, spring concerts, Ice Cream Social and a biennial All County Band Festival at NOHS with all district band students.
Meets Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:20 a.m. Students in the 4th, 5th, or 6th grade are invited to join. Performances include Maple concerts, All County Choir performance with all district choir members and, last year, the National Anthem at an Indians game!
5th and 6th grade students choose from violin, viola, cello, or string bass. Students learn correct playing technique. Performances include Maple concerts and the North Olmsted Struttin' Our Strings Festival at NOHS with all district orchestra students.
Meets Mondays after school with Mrs. Stilla. Members play a variety of instruments including the soprano, alto, and bass xylophones, metallophones and percussion instruments. Performances at Maple with the band, choir, and orchestra. Available to 5th and 6th grade students.
Survivor Reading Club
Meets Thursdays after school in the library with Mrs. Boguski. Runs from September to May. Open to all Maple students. Teams form to read and compete in challenges to outread, outlisten and outperform each other.
Meets Mondays after school in the computer with Mrs. Fry. Runs from Oct. to April. Open to all Maple students. Explores various types of technologies.
Open to 3rd and 4th graders. Indoor/outdoor fun fitness activities. Meets on Tuesdays with Mrs. Hanes. Runs from October through April.
Media Helpers Club
A select group of 4th, 5th and 6th graders who show responsibility and pride in their library and their school. Help with book checkouts, care for computer classroom technology and the library, and help with media recycling and creation. Contact Mrs. Boguski in the Media Center.
6th Grade student leaders elected in Sept.. 2 representatives selected from each homeroom form the student government, which promotes spirit, operates a school store, and runs community service projects throughout the year. Mentors Miss Khaleq and Mrs. Czech.
