Runs from November - April. Meets with Mr. Thomas in the gymnasium 7:30-8:10 on Mondays and Wednesdays (Fridays also after January) for sports competition. Open to 5th and 6th graders.
Math 24 Club
Play the Math 24 game in friendly competition. Meets Thursday with Miss Deno from 7:40-8:10. Runs October through April.
5th and 6th grade students choose from flute, clarinet, trumpet, or trombone. Performances include playing at the primary schools for the holiday concerts at Primary schools, spring concerts, Ice Cream Social and a biennial All County Band Festival at NOHS with all district band students.
Meets Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:40 - 8:10 a.m. Students in the 4th, 5th, or 6th grade are invited to join. Performances include Maple concerts, All County Choir performance with all district choir members and special game performances.
5th and 6th grade students choose from violin, viola, cello, or string bass. Students learn correct playing technique. Performances include Maple concerts and the North Olmsted Struttin' Our Strings Festival at NOHS with all district orchestra students.
Begins in Jan. Meets Mondays from 3:15-4:00 with Mrs. Stilla. Members play a variety of instruments including the soprano, alto, and bass xylophones, metallophones and percussion instruments. Performances at Maple with the band, choir, and orchestra. Available to 5th and 6th grade students.
Survivor Reading Club
Meets Thursdays from 3:15-4:15 in the library with Mrs. Boguski. Runs from September to May. Open to all Maple students. Teams form to read and compete in challenges to outread, outlisten and outperform each other.
Meets Mondays 7:40-8:10 in the computer with Mrs. Fry. Open to 4th graders.
Session I - Oct. 6 - Nov.11. Session II - Jan. 5 - Mar. 23. Explores various types of technologies.
Open to 3rd and 4th graders. Indoor/outdoor fun fitness activities. Meets every other Tuesday from 3:15-4:00 with Mrs. Hanes. Runs from October through April.
Media Helpers Club
A select group of 4th, 5th and 6th graders who show responsibility and pride in their library and their school. Help with book checkouts, care for computer classroom technology and the library, and help with media recycling and creation. Meets Tues., Weds. and Thurs. from 7:40 - 8:10. Contact Mrs. Boguski in the Media Center.
6th Grade student leaders elected in Oct.. 2 representatives selected from 5th and 6th grades form the student government, which promotes spirit, operates a school store, and runs community service projects throughout the year. Meetings 7:40-8:10 second Monday of the month. Mentors Miss Khaleq and Mrs. Czech.
