The staff and students at North Olmsted High School
and North Olmsted Middle School reinforced the Rachel’s Challenge pledge that has been
inbedded in the school culture all year.
Students have stepped up to the challenge to treat each other with
respect and kindness, and to start a chain reaction of kindness and compassion
in their school and community.
The students and staff focused on
a number of proactive and positive activities in support of Chardon High School and the Chardon
At both the High School and the
Middle School, staff and students wore red and black on Friday, March 2, 2012,
as did many staff and students across the district.
North Olmsted High School
students and staff donated $1,086.00, which included $100.00 donations from
five student groups. A banner, which read, " North Olmsted High
School Hearts are with you" was set up in the cafeteria for students and staff to sign.
Pictures of students wearing red and black were taken during each of six lunch
periods last Friday, and are being sent to Chardon along with the banner and a
The Middle School also collected
$700.00 in support of the Chardon students, and is sending a signed framed
poster and photo of the students in red and black to Chardon High School.

letter sent by North Olmsted High School to Chardon High School:
"The North Olmsted High
School students and staff, led by our Student Council and our Student Resource
Officer, Jim Carbone, championed a sign of well wishes, as well as the financial
drive that led to the enclosed donation.
Please accept these gifts as a token our appreciation to our friends at
Chardon High School."
