NOHS Parents, Guardians, and Students:
The 2014/2015 has begun in fine fashion. Although the school year is only a month old, I am confident we are shaping up to have a great year. The excitement of the start of the school year has continued into October. Our teachers are reporting success in the classrooms, and our co-curricular and extra curricular groups have enjoyed a lot of success. Thank you for all of your support thus far in the early part of the school year.
I encourage everyone to stay involved in his or her child’s education. Ask your son or daughter about school daily. Communicate with the teachers. Try to help with the homework. Come to school events to support them and show them by your presence that you are an involved parent. Join the PTSA and other support groups. Trust me, your high school aged child does still want you to be involved, and so do we. Together we will help them achieve so much this school year. Again, thank you for your support.
Please consider helping out as we work this month on the levy campaign to build a new high school and middle school. There are many areas where we could use the help, even if you only have a few hours. Interested? Please contact me at school and I will get your name to the committee leaders.
A reminder that we will be on altered schedule Wednesday October 15 for the PSAT Test. All 10th, 11th, and select 12th grade students will take the PSAT or ASVAB, and will start school at 8:00 a.m. as usual. All 9th graders will report to school for instruction beginning at 11:40 a.m. Lunch will be served, and a modified class schedule will take place following the PSAT test. Seniors are permitted to use the entire day for a college or career visitation day as long as they turn a planned absence form to the attendance office by October 14. The schedule is located on the high school web page.
Thank you for allowing me the privilege to be the North Olmsted High School Principal. If I can be of any assistance, please contact me at 440-779-3520 or 440-779-8825 (Mrs. Horn’s line) Of course, feel free to email me as well at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hope to see you at school or a school event in October. Go Eagles!
