Principal’s Message December 2016
As the month of December begins, I’d like to wish everyone a happy and safe upcoming holiday season. December in a school is a month filled great activities, with holiday concerts, themes, and lessons throughout the entire month. However, it is also an important academic month, and we need to do our best to balance the holiday spirit with the expected academic of NOHS. With your help, I know we will be able to do so once again.
Midterm Exams for all students take place December 15, 16, and 19. We once again have chosen to give the midterms prior to winter break, as we have found that allowing the students to have them completed prior winter break has led to much more success on the exams. The semester will end on January 20, 2017. Remember, all NOHS classes require a midterm exam. The midterm exam schedule is available on the school website.
Our annual Day of Giving takes place Tuesday, December 20. This is our annual day before winter break when the entire day, all lessons, activities, and assemblies, our centered around the concept of giving. This day has been incredibly successful, popular and fun over the years, and gets better every year. It is a great send off into the holiday season.
Hopefully you will be present at one or more of the many holiday concerts and extra-curricular event taking place this month. Come on out and support the students.
