I’d like to take the opportunity to congratulate the NOHS Class of 2014 Top Scholars, who were recognized at the Top Scholars Breakfast on April, 9. Seniors Carter Salis, Jeremy Harper, and Isabel Olivos are congratulated for their outstanding academic performance as students at NOHS for the past four years, as well as for their co curricular and extra curricular involvement at our school. They are each shining examples of the excellence of our students. The students chose Dr. Andras and Mr. Titas as their most influential teachers, and congratulations are certainly in order for them as well.
I’d also like to make special note of our students and staff members who have worked to bring information to our school community to help us remain a safe and a supportive school in light of some dangerous realities in our world. Officer Carbone, Mr. Okuma, Mrs. Fielder, Mrs. Borsz, Mr. Marsh, Miss Gaye, and Mrs. Calloway have organized whole school safety assemblies in the month of April to address the dangers of heroin in the area, as well as the dangers and warning sigs of teenage suicide. These tough but very important messages to our student body are necessary to help keep all of our students safe. I applaud all of our teachers and staff members that have been a big part of allowing these assemblies to take place, as well as our students for their understanding and support.
A reminder that school is not in session Friday, April 18 or Monday, April 21.
I hope to see everyone at a school event as we continue to move through the spring.
