Health Services

The district health team works to ensure all students are health, safe and ready to learn. The health team works closely with families, staff members, and students to coordinate care, provide health education and reduce the spread of communicable disease. The district health team actively works to meet the needs of our students through a variety of tasks:

  • Works as a liaison on all student health issues
  • Member of the IEP team as health specialist
  • CPR/AED training
  • Oversees and develops Individual Health Plans
  • Classroom health education
  • Assists with emergency plans and health intervention
  • Recommends/creates health policy and protocols
  • Maintains immunization documentation

When to keep your student home from school

We know how important attendance is for student success, but sometimes staying home is the healthiest choice—for your child and others. As we move through cold and flu season, it’s a good time to review when it’s best to keep your child home from school. Staying home when sick helps prevent the spread of illness and ensures your child has time to rest and recover before returning to class. Read more about when to keep your student home from school here.
