Jessica Barwacz Selected as Principal of Pine Elementary

Jessica Barwacz  has been selected as the next Principal of Pine Intermediate School and was approved  at the February 3rd North Olmsted Board of Education Meeting. Barwacz is replacing Jim Alexandrou who will be retiring at the end of this school year.

Barwacz is not new to Pine Intermediate School. She has been serving as the Assistant Principal for the last two years. Prior to that she served as an Interim Assistant Principal at the High School. She is also a graduate of North Olmsted City Schools.

Prior to North Olmsted, Barwacz served as principal at Elyria City Schools for ten years. Before becoming an administrator Barwacz was an intervention specialist at North Ridgeville City Schools and Olmsted Falls City Schools. Barwacz is a graduate of Bowling Green State University and obtained her masters in Educational Administration from Ashland University.

“I’m honored to be selected as the Principal at Pine Intermediate,” said Barwacz . “It’s exciting to be an administrator in the district in which I graduated from many years ago,” she said. “I will continue to work with our staff, students and families to ensure positive outcomes for our students, especially when we transition to our new elementary building,” Barwacz added.

“It was an easy choice to select Jess for this role,” said Superintendent Chris Caleris. “Jess has had a presence in that building for the last year and a half and has become familiar with the staff, students and families at Pine,” he added. “Her transition to being principal will be smooth and seamless,” Caleris added.

Barwacz will begin her official duties on August 1st. The district has begun the search to fill the Assistant Principal position at Pine.
