Helping Hands Friends Club is a disability awareness program that helps people of all ages learn attitudes of acceptance, dignity and respect toward all people, especially those with disabilities.
The Helping Hands Friends Club will help you and your child discover new friends, develop new ideas and learn more about people with disabilities through organized events and interactions with their peers. Joining Helping Hands at Chestnut will give you the opportunity to learn how to EMBRACE differences, EDUCATE yourself and others on acceptance attitudes, and EMPOWER students in the building through volunteer opportunities, as well as, planning school events throughout the year! We are looking forward to planning events, such as: putting together a ‘Disabilities Awareness Day’ and organizing ‘Celebrating Special Abilities Week’!
